For sale is an antique WEEDEN HORIZONTAL TOY STEAM ENGINE MODEL No 14 made by the Weeden Manufacturing Company, New Bedford, Massachusetts. This toy was manufactured between the 1890s until the 1940s. This toy is believed to date to the 1930s. This was sold as a working steam engine toy that children heated with an open flame. The toy for sale has most of its parts but is not in working condition. The toy consists of a brass boiler with safety valve, water sight glass, and whistle. The horizonta...l slide valve engine powers an iron flywheel. The boiler and engine is attached to a six-legged cast iron frame. The front of the stand bears a Weeden maker's label. Toy measures about 5 34 inches wide, 6 34 inches tall, and 5 34 inches long. This model is missing the governor and the sight glass at the end of the boiler.
