Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:7054216 |
Kenbak-1 Series 2 - Grant Stockly's painstakingly exact copy of the original Kenbak-1. Unbuilt kit, #6 in the production run. For what it's worth, there were probably more original Kenbak-1's built (about 40?) than the Series 2.Back panel signed by Grant and John Blankenbaker, the original creator and manufacturer. Also included is my 1985 correspondence with John, seeking more information on the Kenbak-1. His response included a 4-page handwritten letter from him, as well as ...original reference manuals and a price sheet. Cost was $850, quantity 1, in 1973.Unfortunately (for me), this was just before the Computer Museum (later to become the Computer History Museum) declared the Kenbak-1 the "first personal computer" and John became a rockstar. No charge for local pickup, or delivery to South Bend, Indiana or St. Joseph, Michigan area.
