McIntosh Mc 2300 300 WPC Stereo 2ch Solid State Amplifier S/N 2Y008 Mfg 1983. Only 4500 were Manufactured in total.This is the legendary amplifier that others are still measured against and is still used by many in live concerts..I bought this working amplifier about six years ago and immediately had it shipped to a vintage audio restoration specialist. If you want a perfect MC 2300 you can stop reading now and just buy it... or read on. RESTORATION; ... "ALL... as in 100% of the capacitors were replaced", resistors in the audio signal path, many transistors & diodes also in the signal path. Power supply has all new bridge rectifiers, diodes and capacitors.The result is a TOTALLY restored MC 2300 that sounds better than when new. The power bandwidth is a conservative 300 wpc, from 8 hz to 41, 000 hz +/- 1 db. Power @ Clipping is over 400 watts RMS, that means the combined power of both channels bridged is over 800 watts, over one horse power. Distortion was under .08%, IM & THC. Crosstalk was more than 80DB.A single most impressive thing was hearing the lack of anything that was not music. I call it "blackness", one of my audiophile friends calls it "hearing air"
I use this amp weekly and it is always refreshing and beautiful to hear.The amp also has new fans with new temp sensors, and new speaker protection sensors.The short version would be this amp performs better than when new and also looks new.Also replaced were the rear panel inputs/outputs with gold plating.
The amp will ship VIA FedEx with full insurance. The amp will ship PROFESSIONALLY PACKED.I will not accept any returns unless pre-authorized by me and at the expense of the buyer. If you can not agree to these terms, don't buy. This amp is in "perfect working condition". Anything less is damage incurred during shipping. The amp will be fully insured in the un-likely event of shipping damage. The meters, meter glass and front face are all cosmetically perfect, no scratches, no dents, no cracked or broken glass, just perfect and impressive.
