This auction is for an amazing Gorham sterling silver reticulated bonbonniere or serving bowl spoon of exceptional weight and quality. Fully marked with 19th century Gorham marks and Shreve Crump & Low Co. the Boston retailer of only the finest American silversmiths. Shreve mark used 1869-1888. It is additionally marked sterling and pattern A 291.
8 1/2" long x 4 1/4" wide and 2 1/4" to the upper curve in the handle. Wonderful weight of 260 grams/8.36 troy ounces.
Excel...lent antique condition. Gorham at its' finest. These serving spoons were used after dinner to serve sweets or chocolate.
