I have for sale my sweet RARE-RARE 11" Dydee Suntan baby I am showing her in an original Dydee trunk with her little white sister - they are so sweet together. You get nothing this listing that is shown in the trunk except the Suntan baby and what is shown with her in the other pics of this listing. She is the only one so far this size known to exist. There is an 15" Suntan baby - it being the only one of that size known so far. I have had her a couple of years and have heard of no others since ...then of this Suntan version. As always I hate to part with one of my little ones but I really do need to downsize and especially at my age someone else needs to take over this cute little baby into their home or maybe even a museum. These babies were molded after the white mold 1 Dydee dolls as you can see. Mine has just a cute face - virtually no paint rubs to her hair - she has a slight scratch above her left eye and the left eye also has a surface scratch. She has brown eyes that still open and close altho she has very short eyelashes on one eye and the other eye none. But these issues seem minor to me and not really noticeable at all taking into consideration her rarity. She is a slight bigger than the 11" as her body was completely unusable as was the one for the 15" Dydee baby so the replaced body is slightly bigger than the original body but can wear the 11" body Dydee clothing. Both of these babies were restored and sold by Kate Eaton - Dollyology - Ruby Lane. Except for the replacement body with a later Effanbee vinyl baby body so you can dress her - fully jointed - there are no other restorations - a little roughing by Kate is all - she is all original paint otherwise. You get everything you see on or with the doll including the Dydee blanket excluding the main pic - only what she is wearing or shown with in the other pics posted here. Use the magnifier and take a close look at all items. The layette items are all clean and in excellent condition. The stylized print flower day dress is factory and I had a matching bonnet made by an excellent seamstress out of some matching material - a dress made out of this material is shown in a layette in the Hilliker Dydee book page 68 - top. I think this dress and bonnet suits her well and is so cute on her. She will come with her dress and bonnet shown on her, short slip not shown, shoes, socks, rattle, birdseye diaper not shown and the cute blanket she is sitting on. The last pic is her original body which I will send along with her - so you can see what bad shape she was in before the restoration. Questions are certainly welcome. You can check the completed listings about her to get more pics and what she would look like in other layette items which I will be listing separate shortly. She is a dolly that is rare history for the Dydee family She will be shipped with Priority mail, FULL insurance and tracking. Thanks for looking at this sweet one of kind little one

Comes from my private collection . Selling ONLY because of health problems . This is a 10 inch BLACKLOCK Foundry Cast iron lid . They made VERY FEW items . The lids they made had the tall lip around the outer edge for coals . THIS one as you can see DOES NOT have that lip . I have talked to some of the BIGGEST cast iron collectors in the US and NOT 1 has seen THIS LID . I was told by one person , that it could have been one of the first lids like this made and then the foundry burnt down . I hav...e NEVER tried to clean it . Everyone I talked to wanted to buy it if I ever got ready to sell . WELL the time has come . I am taking a chance starting it at a NO RESERVE . It WILL go to a new home . I have owned it for a few years . I picked it up years ago at a auction . It is one of my favorite items I will be listing , BUT I have no choice but to sell . I hope it goes to someone that will enjoy it for years to come , as I have . This COULD BE the ONLY ONE OUT THERE It has a beautiful gate mark on bottom . Has nice ring to it when thumped . NO cracks . I am NO expert on cast iron BY NO MEANS . I don't even collect pots , lids , etc. If anything , I'm a wash pot person . PLEASE look at ALL my pictures . All pics were taken outside . It was wiped down with some type of oil when I bought it . I wipe it with cooking oil every few months . What you see it what you will get . So again , PLEASE look . AND as always , selling AS-IS because of age . GOOD LUCK . Winner will be owning a piece of history .The founder of Lodge (Joseph Lodge ) started Blacklock .Blacklock was in started in 1896 and ended in 1910 in South Pittsburg , Tennessee Joseph Lodge (1848-1931) . WOW Here is an unusual embossed soda bottle from the O.M. Meyer Soda company in East Saint Louis ILL. The bottle has a bit of dirt still inside on teh glass, but it is very nice overall. There appears to be a 14 inch crack in the glass, but it is hard to see. It is on the side, and I wonder if it is not original. The bottom base is very warped with the glass melt, but the bottle stands perfectly. The glass molded crooked inside the glass, giving it a cool effect. Simply a great bottle. if you co...llect local soda or beer bottles, then this might be for you too This town is near Prairie Du Rocher, Sparta, Chester, Evansville, Waterloo, Columbia, Smithton Baldwin, Marissa, New Athens, Freeburg, Troy, Caseyville, Edwardsville, Bethalto, Wood River, Jerseyville, Elsah, Venice, Madison, Highland, Pocahontas, Mascoutah, Belleville, E East St Louis, Granite City, Alton, Dupo, Valmeyer, Maeystown, Hecker, COulterville, Steeleville Collinsville, Lebanon, O'Fallon, etc in southern ILL.
