This auction is offering an Antique Chelsea Fine English Porcelain Tea Cup, circa second quarter 19th century. Measuring 2-14 inches in height X 3-14 inches in width, it is hand decorated with a tropical bird in a lush garden framed by gilded scrolling against a light green background. Properly marked upon the base with the anchor trademark, this cup has remained in excellent condition. No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. A fine example.

Please read our Terms below for details.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------If viewing the photos of this GARGANTUAN bowie knife haven't already taken your b...reath away you just might be DEADA classic example of one of those pieces that has so much going for it it's difficult to know where to start in describing it. In terms of the quality of its design, materials, craftsmanship, condition and especially SIZE it has everything any collector could hope to find in one knife and much, much more. At 25.5" long with a massive 18" blade, it is, without a doubt, this is the single largest bowie knife I've yet seen and i thought I had seen just about all of them. It's also the heftiest, weighing in at just a hair over three POUNDS--four with the sheath.Blade is thick and beautifully tapered carbon steel of the finest, hand-forged quality. Handle is one of the largest pieces of crown stag I've ever seen, pierced all the way through with a hidden, rat-tail tang and peened over at the pommel with an iron disc. At its bolster is a large iron cross-quillon to keep your hand where it belongs--on your arm. Some might be tempted to think this knife was made to be hung on a wall but the curvature of that handle fits the human hand so well that I believe this was originally made to be used, perhaps as a hunting sword for hunting boar, much in the way of hunting traditions of Germany's old Black Forest.It comes in a sheath that appears to have been made from an old saddle or at least of similarly thick, high-quality cowhide. Both knife and sheath are in truly EXCELLENT condition and try as I have I haven't been able to find even a single minor dent, ding or defect. Originally, it came to us as part of an abandoned storage unit, one in which we acquired a rather sizeable knife collection with this knife undoubtedly being the pick of the litter. We had intended to offer it a few years ago here on eBay but it was in the possession of a friend who passed away at the time and it was rather difficult getting it back from his survivors--one more reason to neither borrow nor lend, especially as we age, unfortunately. That friend had been trying to help identify this maker's marks but had been unsuccessful, as have I to date. That really flusters me, too, because if this knife could only speak we'd almost certainly either be selling it for quite a bit more money or I'd just not be willing to part with it at all. As you can see in our photos the mark is three deeply struck hearts, impressed into the blade while it was still hot, each with an "H" in its center.
