This quality pair of wine bottle coasters measure 160mm across x 45mm deep and weigh combined 479 grams. They are hallmarked for solid English sterling silver Sheffield 1810 with the makers mark for Thomas Blagden Co. They have turned mahogany bases with a central silver boss with the contemporary script initial R to the centre green baize to the underside of one and are made from a good gauge of silver. Nice sterling silver wine coaster features a beaded top and bottom edge with a wood insert and felt bottom. The coaster is inscribed on Jun 27, 1998. Bears IF Son, lion head, standing lion, 925 and cross marked 2 0 0 0. In very good estate found condition with no dings or dents - just needs a thorough polishing. ENGLISH STERLING WINE COOLER COVER 1824 EMES BARNARD - 87 OUNCESA beautiful George IV sterling silver covered wine cooler in the Regency taste.Emes Barnard in 1824, the most prolific London work shopof the period.Waldron, page 335 illustrates a similar entwined handle wine cooler, made c1825.In campana form with satin chased folded acanthus and cattail rising from folded petal stem.Applied and then richly hand chased oak leaf and acornd along shoulder.Panel fluted cover with cascading grape and ...leaf rim.Cover retains the original hallmarked, folded petal bud form finial with original, hallmarked fastener.Life like, cast twin oak branch handles, with acorn and leaf applied toconjoined center.No monogram. This 1824 British sterling covered wine cooler is just under 14 inches talland 12 across branch handles weighs 87 standard ounces. In fine condition. Interior clean as if never usedRich sterling throughout. Retains original detail.Scattered mild surface wear, and mild bend upper rim, barely noted.Sells world wide.Iowa and North Carolina buyers pay sales tax.
