Up for bid is a rare Yellow-White fluorescing Fresnoite specimen from the Junnila Mine in San Benito County California. This specimen has a Fresnoite crystal about 1cm across on matrix. This may not seem large but the largest Fresnoite Crystal ever found was only 2.2cmFresnoite is a rare barium, titanium silicate mineral. Mindat lists about 20 locations for it, but most of these only have Fresnoite in tiny specs. The Junnila Mine is considered the finest fresnoite-producing locality in the world... and has crystals in the 0.5cm to 2.2cm range. The Junnila Mine was excavated extensively in 1998 and it is believed this specimen came from that operation.
