These originally came in kit form which women would complete at home and this particul...ar pattern is one of the prettiest I have come across. The design is of the '3D' crinoline lady, wearing a dress which is hard covered with silk and then painted flowers. the bonnet is created in a similar way and she is holding a tiny bouquet of felt flowers and surrounded by traditional English cottage garden flowers which are stitched onto a painted silk background.
The detail is lovely and being on silk the pattern shimmers very pretty way. The frame is old Oak and measures 19 inches at its longest point by 14 inches, with mitred corners. There is no glass in this and it could be removed from the frame for posting purposes though it would be a shame as it's clearly purpose-built for it
