"The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran. First edition, third printing, with "Third Printing, August, 1924" stated on the copyright page. Published by Alfred A. Knopf, New York. Measures 5.5" x 8.25", 107 pages. Illustrated with black and white plates and photographic frontispiece. The book is in very good minus condition. Minor wear to the boards. Gilt lettering and illustration on the front board is well preserved and mostly intact. Spine lettering is mostly worn but still legible. When viewe...d from a certain angle, the boards look like they were wiped with a wet cloth, or perhaps some water was spilled and then wiped. Easter gift inscription from 1925 on the front endpaper. The textblock is very well preserved.
