For your consideration I am pleased to offer this wonderful, antique art glass rose bowl made by the Phoenix Glass Company of Monaca, PA. This rose bowl dates to the last quarter of the 19th. century, and was made at Phoenix during the years of Joseph Webb's involvement with the firm. This piece has a blue die-away effect, and is cased over with crystal, finished with Mica flecks that are deposited under the crystal layer of glass. An example of this design can be found in Leland Marpl...e's book, "Phoenix Art Glass", on page 120, plate 293 (please see my last photo for example). This rose bowl stands just a bit over 3 1/4" tall, and is approximately 4 1/2" across at the center. It is in fantastic condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs to be noted. There is a partially ground pontil mark present on the bottom. Overall, this is a fantastic piece, and will be a welcomed addition to any collection!
