Rare Vintage PARAGON "HUGE FLOATING RED JOHNSON ROSE" Cup & Saucer Set Cobalt Blue and Gold Garland Filigree c 1957-60 AS FOUND CONDITION NO RESERVE Description I am pleased to offer a very rare vintage bone china cup and saucer set made by Paragon, England Stunning ...design of an elegant huge dark red rose in full bloom with green leaves Set against a dark cobalt blue body with gold garland filigree details This is the famous "Reg Johnson Rose" pattern although this set is not signed - collectors can recognize it immediately The cup interior and saucer recess patterns are identical One of the most beautiful cups and saucers I have ever owned Saucer in perfect condition with no chips, cracks, hairlines, other damage or restoration and pings perfectly Sadly the cup has a hairline crack on the side which is not generally visible from the front or top views No wear to transfer; no wear to trim; a few minute surface scratches visible under strong light Cup measures 2 1/8" tall at sides and 2 1/4" to top of handle and is 4 3/4" across including handle; the saucer is 5 3/8" across Marked as shown in photo with pattern A 3754 and decorator initials handpainted in burned orange; this mark used from 1957-1960 Please ignore all white spots on photos caused by camera flash This stunning set would make a great addition to your collection even as a shelf piece No reserve so good luck in your bids!
