Antique 19th century Italian sterling silver serving tongs or sugar nibs in the Baroque or Neoclassical style. Top is adorned with a winged cherub or angel holding a dolphina or sea serpent. Sides are adorned with gargoyles. Heads are shaped like scallop shells attached to grotesques. Figure at top resembles the classic little angel with dolphin made famous by Andrea del Verrocchio in 1470.
