I purchased this 1960 Buler watch second hand from a jeweller in 1968 or 9. Before my purchase I have no history for the watch but since then it has never been opened or tampered with in any way. I recall it had a rubber bracelet and it became my main watch for many years. And it is still in reasonable working order, although losing slightly less than 5 minutes a day which I know can be readily sorted. Anyway, as you might expect from a Diver watch, there is an oute...r rotating bezel which turns either way (making no sound in the process), unlike modern bezels. In addition there is a date facility which works as it should but might do with adjusting it's precise alignment on the face. The watch is hand-wind only (about 15 turns max, daily) but does boast 21 jewels and has a Beryllium Balance. It also states Jemaflex which I believe to be a shock reduction mechanism. It clearly indicates 30ATM, though I wouldn’t recommend putting that to the test because of its age. The face also states Swiss Made T - which, apart from the obvious, relates I gather to tritium used on the luminescent hour markers and main hands. The watch body itself, particularly after 60+ years is showing signs of aging although the wear and tear is reasonable. The front glass, too, is scratched but doesn't detract too much from the face, however it could do with replacing but that is best left to the new owner as I've never had the back opened and have no intention of doing so. It has a 'pop-off' back casing. The start price for bidding is well below a valuation I recently obtained, but I'd prefer to use eBay rather than the valuer's services and therefore this 1960s rare collector’s item is available as a potential bargain for an eagle-eyed watch enthusiast. And I'm selling because although I happen to have kept the watch safe for all these years, I'm not a collector and somebody else could enjoy it rather than just have me hold on to it with no real purpose.Measurements: Lug width is 18mm; Watch diameter is 35mm; Face diameter 28mm; Depth 10mm; Weight 45 gms There is no strap.
