Bolton's began operations in Troy (Lansingburgh), New York in 1865 as Samuel Bolton Brewery with Samuel Bolton being the sole proprieter. He began brewing at home on his off time and his quality "old home ale" shared with friends and acquaintances led to the gradual expansion of his brewing business into a large enterprise producing 70, 000 barrels in 1899. Over time he brought his brother and sons ...into the business and this resulted in a couple of name changes for the brewery. As with many breweries, prohibition brought an end to S. Bolton's Sons Brewery in 1920. Bolton's was one of the breweries that operated during the heyday of brewing in the Troy, New York area. This tray is unusual in it's inverted pie shape and it's large size (19" x 14" x 1.25"). Please see pictures for condition and thank you for looking!
