Rare 1935 Baby Cyclone Ignition Model Airplane Engine
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:58384417 |
This was one of the very first model airplane engines available to the public right after Bill Brown's first 1934 Brown Jr. The Brown Jr. was almost twice it's size in displacement but because the Baby Cyke had front rotary induction it was more powerful and could fly most of the planes a Brown could fly. Very few have survived because it's Zink Alloy crankcase would crack and break in a crash landing and most landings back then were crash landings. It's serial number is AAAA. Yes four... A's, no numbers. I have no idea how it got that identification but since Bill Atwood & Ira Hassad were the ones assembling them maybe they were just playing games. It's a beauty in almost new condition.Shipping to lower 48 States $9.85 All others contact me for shipping costs. Foreign orders welcome. If you like the old model engines, join MECA (Model Engine Collectors Association) It's a world wide organization. MECA Bulletin & engine not part of auction.
