P. DUROSS - Circa 1855-1860 Philadelphia Slug Plate Squat - Deep Bluish TealHere is circa 1855-1860 rectangular slug plate type squat soda from Philly. This bottle is found with and without the pontil, and this just missed and is smooth-based but early. Very heavy glass and a lovely blue-hued color. The top is an applied double taper style.

There is a teeny spot of the collar that feels slightly rough if feel carefully, but no chips. Otherwise, this is a recently excavated bottle that has only been rinsed out and never tumble cleaned. So it retains the natural glowy patina, but it also has some patchy privy stain and spotty light wear that could be polished up if desired. I love it as is.This auction is from BottleLand.com.
