DOCUMENT SIGNED BY THOMAS HEYWARD, JR., THE SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION... OF INDEPENDENCE FROM SOUTH CAROLINA Partly-printed document signed by, “Tho’s Heyward Jun’r, ” as Circuit Judge directing the sheriffs to apprehend Augustinus Buyck so that he may, “appear before the Justices of the said State, at the Court of Common Pleas…to answer to William Hart and Felix Warby…in a plea of debt that he render to them Five hundred and six pounds Sterling money of South Carolina.” The document is one page, contains a white paper wax seal attached to the recto and endorsements on the verso, created in Charleston on January 4, 1785, measures 13 by 8.25 inches, in very good condition with toning and ink bleeding, and archivally mounted, matted, and framed to an overall size of 19.75 by 15 inches.
