Yes that's right, i am the original owner ! Paid 800 dollars for this deck back in the early 80's at Gordon Electronics in Syracuse This is an incredible tape deck even to this day.
The problems with it are that it doesnt play 90 minute tapes anymore because of either a weak motor or a bad belt. But I really had to quit using it because the on/off button quit working. So i no longer can even turn it on.
The deck face is real clean, no scratches. This dec...k has seen dust and smoke in its life. It has seen some wild crazy partys over its lifetime. It does not smell of smoke but who knows whats inside it when you open it up ? Since i am the original owner i can guarantee there is no issues with its recording and playback abilities.
There are no electrical issues, both meters light up and work along with the red recording lights in between the meters. I just must have gotten all the use there was out of the motor or belt. To be safe, bid on it like it will need a motor. Its a good clean deck that will be well worth putting some time and money into. It records like the best deck in the world, i remember that !
