A large and impressive antique 19th century Indian Mughal silk and fabric wall hanging.This wonderful antique Indian Mughal wall hanging has been created with layers of gold and multi colored silk thread intricately woven into a black fabric backing. It shows two lions, holding a sword and a flag standing under some sort of coat of arms, either side of a large tree of life with two monkeys at the base holding flames next to burning candles. The edges have the most incredibly detailed ...layered scrolling floral decorations woven from gold thread and highlighted with further multi colored thread. The hanging has been backed with black linen and some hanging loops have been added at some stage.The hanging measures approximately 70 x 42 inches (177cm x 106cm).The hanging is in general very good condition. It has some wrinkling which should stretch out when hung and a few loose threads and a little fading to the black fabric here and there. This wonderful antique Indian Mughal wall hanging has been created with layers of gold and multi colored silk thread intricately woven into a black fabric backing. The edges have the most incredibly detailed layered scrolling floral decorations woven from gold thread and highlighted with further multi colored thread. The hanging has been backed with black linen and some hanging loops have been added at some stage.
The hanging measures approximately 70 x 42 inches (177cm x 106cm).The hanging is in general very good condition. It has some wrinkling which should stretch out when hung and a few loose threads and a little fading to the black fabric here and there.
