For sale is a vintage Redline RL20 II Prostyler frame and fork set that has been professionally re-chromed. The frame is an '84 model serial # RD06647. As a matter of fact, if you look up RL20IIs on BMX Museum, you will find the frame consecutive to this one on the first page. The forks date to '87 when Redline lowered the mounting points for the forkstande...rs. The frame was originally white, and while I thought many times about powdercoating it, I ultimately left it in a pristine state of chrome so that the next owner could finish it however they liked.I am including a set of factory original Redline decals in the correct color scheme for a white or chrome RL20II (white fork lettering, red downtube lettering and blue diamonds for the downtube and headtube). Of course, they would work fine for any color, especially if you intended to paint the bottom bracket black to complete the fade. In any case, they should spare you the indignity of having to use reproduction stickers.Looking over the frame and forks with a critic's eye, there is a tiny, almost imperceptible dimple in the right top tube that barely shows through the re-chroming and a similar mark on the side of the top left tube (see pic 3). Just behind that are the standard - again almost-imperceptible - dimples that are present on all RL20IIs where the top tubes start to flare out towards the seatpost. If you flip the frame upside down, there is a small ding right next to the crossmember (see pic 9). The front and rear dropouts show very faint impressions from wheel nuts but are otherwise straight and near perfect with almost all rear serrations still visible. The rear platforms are perfect with no dents or abrasions, and the inner reinforcements are likewise flawless. The forkstanders have excellent knurling and tips and look practically unused. The seat tube is perfect. The head tube is perfect. The bottom bracket is perfect. The cable guides are perfect. All told, this would make a beautiful show bike whether it was built in chrome or painted in one of Redline's iconic colors. If you've been contemplating a vintage RL20 II and want a frame/fork set that has not been abused and is ready to go as-is in whichever direction you want to take the project, then you might not want to pass up this opportunity.Allow $130 for fully insured domestic Priority shipping to the lower 48 states.Just to be clear about this listing and any other listing of mine: I do not offer Anniversary editions, Heritage models, Lineage products, REPOPs, clones, fakes or any other spurious items.
