The Illinois Watch Co. of Springfield, Ill., opened in 1869 as the Springfield Watch Co. One of the founders was a former law partner of Abraham Lincoln's. He and Lincoln shared an office in Springfield from 1837 to 1841. The Illinois Watch Co. began making the "A. Lincoln" pocket watch in 1907 to honor the former president. By 1928 more than 100, 000 Lincoln watches had been made. Rudolf Bohunek (1875-1939), wh...o had a studio in Chicago, painted his original portrait of Lincoln in 1913. This is a Lithograph reproduction on canvas, produced and given to dealers to display in-store around 1920.
