Whimsical little John Biccard Statue Depicting anthropomorphic Walrus dressed as a proper English butler. He stands approximately 6” tall and is very solid and heavy. From the 1970s. Looks like carved bone or scrimshaw but I found it is actually carved crushed marble by a South African artist named John Biccard from Capetown. His figurines are highly collected and prized. His works are known as “Biccard Marbles” and were sold at a little boutique on Table Mountain.
