A resident of Harrison, he was owner of Hampton House Studios and Print Collection. He had been selling reproductions of his realistic paintings since 1972. Hampton was the official art...ist of the U.S. Pavilion during Knoxville’s World’s Fair, and one of his prints was presented to President Reagan during the opening-day ceremonies. His works have been featured in “Southern Living” magazine as well as 46 states and three foreign countries. He helped finance future Special Olympics games by donating $5 from the sale of one of his prints. He studied Indian life and pursued his hobby of collecting Indian artifacts. His painting “Nancy Ward – Cherokee Nation” contained the essential ingredient of Nancy Ward’s life and of her legend. His collection of pottery, arrowheads, and other art of the American Indian was the envy of many professional collectors. He was a veteran of World War II.
