Tonight I'm happy to offer, from a recently purchased estate, Sherman, Vintage, Late 1950's - Clear AB Color - Faceted Crystal Beads - Spider Web Motif - Faceted Crystal Beads and Gold Chain Bib Necklace Set. BOOK PIECE! - EXTREMELY RARE DESIGN! - MINT CONDITION! - NO RESERVE! This handsome and impressive set dates from the late 1950's, made by the well known Canadian firm of "Sherman" designed as a bib style choker necklace of graduated crystal beads and gold chains fashioned in a spi...der web motif with rhodium plated fittings and mounts. The necklace is done in a series of dazzling and intense lilac flashed clear AB color crystal beads accented with a gold plated marquise crystal clasp. The necklace comes with a pair of 1.25" bead cluster earrings that are an exact match to the central details in the necklace. The necklace measures 14" in length.This necklace, in a slight design variation, can be seen on page 160 of the new Yallen and Caldwell Sherman book - "Sherman Jewellery - The Masterpiece Collection". The set is in mint condition showing very minimal use, all the original beads, none missing or replaced with no loss to the finish or plating on the the fittings or mounts.
The necklace is marked on the back of the clasp, Sherman in script letters and Sherman on the inside of the earrings on a small silver square.
