Up for auction is an EXTREMELY RARE ORLANDO HERNANDEZ "EL DUQUE" 2001 NEW YORK YANKEES GAME USED HOME JERSEY. What makes this jersey special is that it has a black armband on the left sleeve and an American Flag on the back. In 2001 The Yankees wore a black armband on the left sleeve in honor of the victims of the September 11th terrorist attacks. Meaning this jersey was worn just after September 11th and before the post season in October!! ...;And based on the Yankees schedule below only within a 8 day window!! making it possibly a 1/1? This is a really special jersey for so many reasons. It also has the 100th Anniversary American League Patch on the right sleeve. Jersey shows nice use with what appears to be either dirt or chewing tobacco stains. Comes with a Steiner LOA with matching holograms on both the jersey and LOA. This jersey has been in my collection since April of 2008.
