Please meet Mishka, a VERY RARE Steiff Polar bear c. 1909.She measures app. 10 inches from nose to bum.The polar bear was created by Franz Steiff and patented in 1908.Mishka is well loved and no longer retains her button but is still quite strong with lots of Eskimo kisses left to give!She is stuffed with wood wool with non working squeaker and remains of original nose stitching. These Steiff polar bears are very hard to find and rarely seen for sale, especially ones as sweet as Mishka...! Please look closely at photos as she does have some small holes around face and in pawpads which can be seen in pics! Also, I believe her neck was originally made with a mechanism to twist but no longer moves...
