Many people feel this is one of the better units produced when Marantz was producing some of the best solid state stereo gear. This receiver has had two owners and was sold through our store about a year ago. The current owner decided to restore a different receiver. The faceplate and re...ar chassis are clean.Sonically, it plays on both channels but the controls are very scratchy and are all in need of a major cleaning. Also, the power button is broken and while it works, the inner plastic shaft is broken and the metal cylinder falls out at times. It may be able to be glued, otherwise the power switch can be used as-is or replaced.As with all of these, they should be serviced for optimal sound and reliability. The capacitors are probably in need of at least a check and probable replacement as they all are when these receivers reach this age. .160 Also note a bulb or two may be burned out or are ready to due to age.
