CIRCA: 1920's
Circa 1920's Wilkinson leaded glass lamp shade. The base was snapped in half in an unfortunate shipping incident. The pictures show the lamp on a borrowed base. This offering is for the shade only. This lamp obviously influenced by the Arts & Crafts movement. Warm and vibrant colors typical of the A&C era, and geometric shaped glass panels accentuated by chunk jewel glass along the skirt and leading edge of the shade. The shade is 18" in diameter and has a hang tag ring soldered in place. It is thought that these rings were used by the Retail Stores by which to hang a tag from, informing the prospective buyer of the price and possibly the manufacturer of the lamp. Two panels warrant replacement, and once replaced, the shade will be in great cosmetic condition. Fortunately these panels are easily replaced, and Kokomo glass, the oldest glass manufacturing company in the U.S. and supplier to Tiffany, back in the day, can match these panels perfectly, and the cost is very reasonable.
CONDITION REPORT: Preowned/used cosmetic condition. Modest wear commensurate with age and use. Two panels having had an impact at some point in its life.
