Picked up this GE Searcher Radio 2plus2 FM / AM / VHF /SCAN Model 7-2975A in a bundle of old electronic items at an estate sale 20 or so years ago, it's been in a box in my clean, dry basement since. Cleaning out, it's got to go...
I plugged this in and tuned in a local FM station. Set it to scan VHF/UHF and it scans but I didn't receive anything. Tried tuning and got nothing but "noise" changed as I tuned. The volume control is VERY scratchy and while on FM could lose so...und by just turning a bit.
Please Note: one of the 2 tabs that locks down one of the antennas is broken off, see red arrow on last photo. Also apparently the previous owner sprayed a bit of paint ind there are some tiny white specks on top = again see last photo. I picked a couple off but not going to mess with it, this will need a good cleaning it was pretty dirty, just ran a rag over it to clean off the 45 years of dust.
Battery compartment is clean, probably never had batteries in it.
