Here's a beautiful, working Stewart Warner TRF battery radio manufactured in Chicago almost a century ago.
Condition is excellent. Gold tone metal panel is nearly flawless, with no scratches, no scars, no issues. Tuning dial is likewise nearly flawless. Original knobs are excellent, with no damage and gold engraving that's still prominent. Chassis is clean, and ganged tuners are all working properly. The radio's cabinet is in outstanding condition. Scattered minor marks consistent with age and gentle handling, but the original finish is still smooth and lustrous.
The radio includes a complete set of tubes, and they all have good emissions.
As noted above, this is a working radio. If you want to operate it, you'll need a good regulated power supply (I'd recommend an ARBEIII) and a longwire outdoor antenna (at least 100 feet long and 20 feet off the ground). It will of course also help to have had some experience at the controls of a similar 20's radio.
Please note: in a separate auction this week, I'm listing the perfect mate for this radio: a 1927 Stewart Warner "Dancing Ladies" speaker. It's pictured in the last photograph, and it is NOT included with the radio.
When you've finished checking out my ebay listings this week, take a look at my TechnoGallerie website, where you can buy hard-to-find antique phonographs, antique radios, antique cameras and other gadgets you're not likely to see anywhere else. New arrivals include a near mint mahogany Edison Home phonograph with 2/4 gearing, a K reproducer, and a Cygnet horn. TechnoGallerie has a newsletter, too, and if you take a second to sign up for it, you'll receive an email update whenever I list something new on the site -- typically once a week.
That's about it. I will package the radio properly so that they arrive at your doorstep safely. I have been shipping antique phonographs and radios for years, and if you check my feedback, you'll see that I know how to do it correctly.
