This unit has worked very well since I have acquired it. I have not used the MC function but it works fine for the MM section of the Phono function. All lights work. There might be a little scratchiness when using the volume, but that works out when twisting the knob. Probably a good DeOxit would take care of it. On the back panel there is a switch for connected or separated (for the pre-amp and the main amp). There was a locking plastic piece for th...is but it was not there when I bought it. Its absence does not affect the amplifier's functioning at all. Also absent is a sticker with a serial number. It came to me that way. Why, I do not know, but I want to reassure you if you are looking for it and can't find it, it is not there.
I will double box it for shipping, NO confetti or useless wadded up newspaper; I will only use very good packing material. This is a great unit by Sansui and it is heavy.
