The Sansui AU-5900 is one of Sansui’s legendary amplifiers that highly sought after today. This model is rated at 45 watts per channel, has an incredibly warm tube-like audio quality, and has a solid damping factor of 80! Sansui over-engineered these units to the point that they regularly produce power that significantly exceeds this rating. This model features fantastic over-engineered construction in both the chassis and electronics design. The AU-5900 was engineered with highly flexible features such as:+ Capability for two sets of speakers+ Bass, midrange, and treble controls+ Two auxiliary circuits+ Two phono circuits –with three selectable cartridge load settings+ Loudness controlThis unit has been fully restored, is in excellent condition, and sounds truly beautiful! + All of the aluminum electrolytic capacitors have been replaced on the power amp driver circuit board, the equalizer circuit board, and the tone control circuit board, the function selector board, and the power supply circuit board with brand-new high-quality Nichicon / (Muse), Elna Silmic II, and Panasonic FC series capacitors. + Replaced all diodes that tend to degrade over time such as the VD1212-style+ Replaced all resistors that are known to degrade over time such as fuse resistors on the power amp board+ Brand new main power supply filter capacitors installed+ Polyester film capacitors have been added to the main filter caps for better power supply regulation resulting in improved high frequency performance and tighter bass (technically: improved ESR, or equivalent series resistance)+ The output relay was replaced with a brand-new Omron relay+ All signal transistors replaced in the tone control circuit with high-quality devices+ All transistors replaced in the phono amp/equalizer circuit with high-quality devices+ Small signal transistors replaced in the output stage+ The exterior is in excellent condition with blemishes, scuffs, scratches, and / or other imperfections typical of its age+ All controls have been deoxidized+ DC offset and bias settings have been adjusted to factory specifications+ All lights/LEDs are fully operational+ The unit has been cleanedThis unit weighs approximately 35 pounds fully packed. The unit will perform perfectly as described in the description above. After recapping and replacing other diodes and transistors common imperfections may exist such as; (cosmetic) paint surface imperfections in an area where labeling exists and any refinishing would compromise the labels, dust in VU meters, insignificant noise in switches or potentiometers, transformer hum, or other age-related characteristics. Any returns are handled on a case-by-case basis with the customer responsible for return shipping amount.
