Ok first time listed had 964 views and 56 watchers so relisted will see how many hits this time. As found Gearhart Knitting Machine made in Clearfield Pa 1888 to 1924. Purchased at auction, I love buying the strange and different items did not know what this was until I started research. Machine was locked up when I brought it home so I disassembled and got it to turn with a little sand paper and steel wool, was very tight between cylin...der and the aluminum piece that goes around, still a little snug but with lubrication it is getting better. Removed and cleaned all 72 slots and all 72 needles which all seem to be in working order. Stands 43'' tall with the cast iron yarn arm on top 34 1/2'' to the top of machine, three legged tripod stand is 29 3/4'' tall the legs spread 19 1/2'' at the bottom all three sides. I watched some videos on you tube and played around with some kite string was able to do a row or two but nothing worth a picture. I also know it is missing weights and some other items but if you are looking at this you most likely know where to get what you need. Shipping weight will be around 35lbs with special packaging I will set at 60.00 for the lower 48 if it is more I will take up the slack if it's less I guess I get a bonus. Sold as is with my hopes that you enjoy for many years. Will ship USPS or UPS depending on price UPS has been a little more dependable plus less damage. P.S, You can see in a couple of pictures the damage to the top mount piece not sure what it does as it is not mechanically attached to the rest of machine just seems to take a ride, either way I just want to be up front with what I see. No bids from Alaska, Hawaii or foreign countries with out prior message so that correct postage can be added. I deal in old collectibles, unique items, and antiques and most generally they show age and ware from the years of use. So please ask questions, look closely at pictures, the decision to bid is yours not mine. Thanks for looking. Ken Walnut House Antiques
