A rare Steane's 42M moving coil microphone. Beautiful classic Art Deco design worthy for a museum, collection, or stage. Made by Steane's Sound, Melbourne, Australia in the mid to late 1940's.This microphone is in good original condition. I've seen photos of one of these microphones restored to the original shine and they look amazing. I am selling this as non working as I do not have the right cable connector. The microphone cord is original and wired directly inside to the eleme...nt. It cannot be disconnected by unscrewing the cable connector. The yoke does allow the shell to tilt and hold position.
The shell has some minor wear marks. No bent or cracked ribs. Original grill cloth. Threads are good to connect tight to the stand. Hard to find in a microphone like this.
Selling the adjustable stand that came with this microphone when I purchased it years ago. The stand has an 8" base, adjusts from 16" to 24".
This was advertised in the 1940's as an all purpose microphone for any use so it's very versatile.
Would make a beautiful display piece polished up with an LED light inside too.
