I have been collecting vintage watches for 30+ years and this Universal Geneve watch has been in my safe deposit box for some time. It is currently not running and is being sold as-is. This is a 1944 Universal Geneve Dato-Compax and measures 33.3 mm wide not including the rectangle pushers and crown. Has... 11/16 inch lug spacing. The case has a pop-off back free of any engraving and is SIGNED on the inside. There are two numbers inside the case, 1175299 and 52220. The movement is SIGNED and is a column wheel 17 Jewel Swiss made and has a serial # 260813. I believe the balance is good but this watch will need to be serviced. The SIGNED dial is very complex and has 4 registers. I really haven't seen many 4 register watches in my 30+ years of collecting. I think the dial is original but make no claim as to being sure. Please make your own decision on that. The crystal is clean but not perfect. Again this 585 14k gold Universal Geneve chronograph watch is sold for repair.
