USAF A-2 Flight Jacket--Turkish Mfg
Original USAF Type A-2 flight jacket, dark brown leather construction with dark brown nylon lining, dark brown synthetic knit cuffs and waist band, two patch pockets with snap flaps, pile panels on each side of chest for attaching patches, brass vent eyelets at armpits, and brass YKK zipper front. Has large printed nylon blood chit sewn inside in Arabic, Turkish, English, Farsi, and Kurdish. Mfg by BARON'S Leather and Clothing Tailor Shop, Incirli...k, Turkey. Not size marked but is a US size Extra Large, measurements as follows: Chest [armpit seam to armpit seam], 26 inches; Shoulders [shoulder seam to shoulder seam], 20 inches; Outer sleeve [shoulder seam to cuff edge], 24 1/2 inches; Inner sleeve [armpit seam to cuff edge], 19 inches; Length [base of collar seam to waist band edge], 26 inches.Jacket is the same construction and quality as the US made version except for several minor features: [1] Outer pockets have hand warmer opening in back. [2] Two internal hanging chest pockets, one of which has a leather pen/pencil pocket sewn on outside.No holes, fraying or other damage. Jacket was made in the last 30 years or so, for personnel at Incirlik Air Base supporting numerous operations in the region, from Operations Desert Storm, Provide Comfort, Northern Watch, etc., through the War on Terror.
