A RARE EMBROIDERED DRAGON ROUNDEL FROM THE SURCOAT OF AN EMPEROR OR IMPERIAL SON Embroidered in satin stitch and fine couched gold thread with a side-facing imperial dragon couched in fine gold thread against a ground of wispy clouds embroidered in multiple colors, all on a black silk ground, approximately 7 in. (17 cm.) in diameter.NOTE, the last photo of a complete robe is only for reference as to where a roundel would have been placed on an imperial robe, this auction is only f...or the roundel in the previous photos.
