Vintage 1948 RCA DecoWIRE Recorder with Original MicrophoneWe are offering avintage RCA wire recorder. This machine was made in 1948 Model M-1, Serial # 12875and model #C-5950. Made in Camden, New Jersey. It has the streamline styling ofthat post war, mid-century, we can do anything optimism of that era. It wasbuilt to last a lifetime or maybe two. Even RCA couldn’t foresee the explosionof technology that would make this wonder obsolete before it had a chance ofwearing out. This one ...still works great.The wire is spooledin side A cassette and gives the user 15 minutes recording time in both forwardand reverse for a total of 30 minutes per cassette. Also included is theoriginal microphone. The grill on the mic is partially broken out (see photos), but still works fine. The outside case of the recorder is brown Bakelite withoutany chips or cracks. There is some rust on the bottom of the machine. Thecassette has a recording still on it. I recorded over the beginning of one sideto see if it still works. It did! Thanks for looking! Lyle
