18TH CENTURY NEW ENGLAND WROUGHT IRON AND BRASS STRAINER IN GREAT OLD SURFACE. This strainer measures about 20"  long with a 5 5/8" diameter round brass bowl attached with three copper rivets, a common 18th century type construction where the iron handle meets the sheet brass bowl and is a tight connection.  The bowl is about 1 1/2" deep. It has great tool marks and a wonderfully shaped backstrap handle behind the bowl. It has a nice hanging loop at the top of the handle. Nic...e old piece with patina sought after by Colonial Era / Revolutionary War and Primitive Collectors.
