Title:Antique Miniature DollDescription:Presented for your consideration is this antique miniature doll. This Black Americana doll is of an African-American woman (assumed to be a mammy) holding a Caucasian baby in her arms. The doll is made of composition with a bisque head and has detailed facial features which include dark eyes and parted pink lips that show two front teeth. The legs have painted red socks with black shoes. The doll is jointed at the arms, legs and head. The ma...mmy wears a red patterned dress with a plaid shawl, and bandanna tied around her head. The baby wears a long white dress, likened to a Christening dress, and a painted white bonnet. The baby also have detailed, painted facial features which include blond hair, dark eyes, and rosy cheeks. All clothing is sewn onto the doll. No markings are on the doll to indicate a manufacturer. Guaranteed to be antique. This interesting doll would make a great addition to any Black Americana or antique doll collection!
Light fraying is around the bottom edge of the dress and shawl. Free of chips, cracks and breaks. Very light wear from age and play. Overall in VERY GOOD condition. Please refer to the photos for the absolute best details.
