1920 World Series Ticket Stub - Game 6 (Game 3 In Cleveland) Indians 1, Robbins 0
Item History & Price
* This 1920 World Series ticket stub was discovered in the pages of an old book from our father's estate.
* The book that the stub was found in was from a late 1800's-early 1900's book collection that our father's uncle (Bryce) passed down to him.
* Bryce grew up in Akron and was a big Cleveland Indians fan and presumably the ticket stub was his.
* We had the stub graded by PSA and despit...e receiving a 1-Poor (MK) grade it still has great eye appeal, especially being 100 years old (See photos).
* The "MK" from the PSA grade indicates markings on the stub which were the names Smith and Mails that were written across the top of the ticket stub presumably by Bryce. The name Smith referred to Sherry Smith of the Brooklyn Robbins and the name Mails referred to Duster Mails of the Cleveland Indians. Smith and Mails were the starting pitchers for game 6 of the 1920 World Series and we believe it only enhances the history of the ticket with the names of the starting pitchers written on it by the original owner. Duster Mails pitched a 3 hit, complete game shutout as the Indians won game 6 by a score of 1-0 giving the Indians a 4-2 series advantage and brought them within one victory of their first World Series championship (the 1920 World Series was a best of 9).
* The ticket stub would be a great piece of baseball memorabilia for any fan, but especially for a Cleveland Indians fan!
