Rare 1883 Shepard Hardware Co., Buffalo, NY “JOLLY” MECHANICAL BANK Black Americana   
  From a Connecticut Estate Auction comes this Rare 1883 Shepard Hardware Co., Buffalo, NY Manufactured JOLLY (can't type the rest of the name but you can see it on the piece) BLACK AMERICANA MECHANICAL BANK. Standing 7” tall to the top of his curly head, this is 5” wide, 5 1/2” deep and weighs over 4 pounds. The original paint is appropriately muted and ...he is in perfect working condition. The only thing I would note is that there is a small crack in the iron in the top portion of his upper right arm seen in the first photo across his right bicep. This is perfectly stable, however, does not wiggle and won't present any problem with the bank's operating.
I have recently purchased a significant collection of Black Americana and hope no one will take offense at these historically interesting and important items. I am happy to combine items to reduce shipping with the second and successive items usually half of the original shipping cost.
