Original Description:
A beautiful and rare Sino Tibetan copper alloy figure of the Buddha Amitayus seated cross legged on a double lotus base, reminiscent of those from Pala period Indian art. The figure holds an Amrita vase and is dressed in regal attire, with long flowing hair covering each of his shoulders. It dates to the mid-late Qing dynasty, probably 18th-19th century.The statue is thickly cast and fairly heavy for its size. The bronze has a beautiful patina that only comes with age. There are traces... of mineral pigment throughout. A rare piece for serious collectors of Himalayan and Chinese art. Height: 14cmProvenance: old English collection
