Vintage 1890 ' S Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk

Antique Louis Vuitton Steamer Trunk for auction to the highest bidder. This extra large and handsome trunk was recently picked by me from an estate here on the coast of Maine and is being offered to the successful purchaser. This trunk spent many years in an attic of a mansion and has collected many years of dust and soil so it is in need of cleaning and minor restoration. It is complete with the exception of two hasps that hold the side latches closed.... I believe they are called hasps and are located on the sides of the trunk. The leather that originally went around the center of the trunk from front to back or vice versa had long been of no use and only exist by maybe about a 12" piece surviving.
With the exception of some pieces of the base of the cloth bottom interior missing, the interior is complete and in good used antique condition. There are some stains on the accessory pieces: two handled trays, woven square basket, and double cupboard accessory box which is in excellent condition. Minor amount of staining on the quilted inside cover because of its' age. More pictures available upon request for further verification and condition. The measurements are as follows: The trunk is 27" high, 24" front to back and 42 1/2" long. I have wiped it off and brought out the pattern so it can be viewed better but it needs to be professionaly restored and cleaned. There is minor tearing along the bottom edge of one side of the trunk from loading and unloading during shipping in years past. The items missing are 2 hasps that hold the locks closed. Also the leather that encircled the trunk closed has almost completely deteriorated. It is easily replaced. All outside brass needs polishing.
The brass on the inside accessories is in great antique patina. I am truly sorry that my pics are in poor condition but I have recently had eye surgery and am not able to take appropriate pictures to show the great condition of this rare large steamer trunk. This trunk was filled with many antique theatre gowns, silks, jewelry and misc. items. The feathers had started to separate from their clothing. With the exception of the material on the bottom of one area of the trunk there is minor missing material. Also a small hole in one of the trays is where some possible perfume was originally spilled.
