This petrified wood from Zimbabwe has beautiful shades of green as a result of chromium that has infiltrated into the wood during petrification. The face is polished to show the colors and patterns in the wood with the sides and end natural to show the wood grain. The color is almost a mint green with dark green in the center, a very unique color combination.&nb...sp; This green wood is increasingly rare as you have to dig down at least 15 feet to find it. Most of the wood found in the area is brown color.
