This pot is in Excellent Condition showing it's age and use with 2 old secured hairline cracks, 1 on the side the other to the left of the handle, and surface roughness, you can see old firing ping marks. The ...pot measures 5" tall x 5 12" at the top rim x 8" wide at the handle x 2 14" at the base and weighs approximately 2lb 3oz. Great hand incised decorations throughout, a hand tooled loop handle with old reed material holding a stirrer. We believe this is an old African Ceremonial Pot used to mix face paint. Up for auction is an antique incised decorated redware bean pot recently found at auction in the Lancaster County PA area. It is found in good used condition. Condition issues include nicks and chips to base, handles and top. No lid. Regular glaze glitches common with early 19th century redware. Wonderful decoration along handles and top rim. Opening diameter approx. 4", base diameter approx 5.5". Unusual glaze, possibly Continental. Unsigned unmarked.
