It depicts a porcelain bowl of fresh cut oranges and a green wine bottle with a vase of white flowers. There is a small brown bottle in the lower right foreground. It is very well done but unsigned. It is painted on canvas and is in the original walnut with git trim frame. Both the painting and frame are in very good all original condition. This is a beautiful impressionist still life by the New York artist Katharine McIntire (born 1880-). It is signed and dated 1931. She exhibited at St. Louis City Art Museum (1916-1918), and was known as a miniature painter as well, exhibiting three examples at the fourth annual Exhibition of the Chicago Society of miniature painters at the Art Institute of Chicago in 1915. The piece is oil on board, and measures 18" x 24" with the frame being 20 14" by 26 14". The frame is new. The still life de...picts a table top with a box, a vase with flowers, two lemons, a bowl of garlic, and a table cloth. There is a lovely patterned wall paper in the background. The colors are beautiful pastel hues. There is a small scratch above the signature, and there is a tiny spot of loss to the board at the top edge, which is not noticeable. You will be very pleased.
