Here is an early American dated quilt, an antique handappliqued and hand quilted Tulip quilt. The folky patterns are offered inCheddar. Red and Green on Eggshell White. Quilting is worked in Diamond, CurvedLine and Diagonal patterns. Binding is hand sewn to the white backing. There is a red geese framed border. Stitchedinto one corner are cursive initials separated by stitched periods and then theyear 1826. It is difficult to make out the letters. As expected, there is somel...oss to the pattern fabrics and binding and general toning as shown, yet still a rare example of an early American quilt. Measurements are approx. 84” by 72”.
