RARE & MAGNIFICENT 16" Francois Gaultier French Fashion Doll ALL ORIGINAL circa 1860's

In a perfect 16 inch size, this remarkable french fashion doll has all the valuable features that are highly sought after, like the bisque arms on her original rare, early kid muslin cloth body. And that lovely Gaultier Fashion Face with a very rar...e character expression, seen in her raised eyebrow. She has that glowing pressed bisque and those gorgeous rare, early blue paperweight eyes. With delicately hand-painted facial features: her closed mouth with luscious pink lips, lightly feathered brows, upper and lower lashes, and softly blushed cheeks - she is truly endearing with her expressive gaze! Wearing her original mohair wig, finished with pierced ears and still wearing her original earrings and original pearl necklace!
Bisque swivel head, marked "2" on the back, with her original shoulder plate, signed F.G. on one side, and "2" on the other.
Her original kid sawdust stuffed jointed muslin cloth body with bisque arms, a tightly formed torso, jointed knees, and beautifully sculpted bisque hands with carved fingers and separated thumbs, excellent for holding parasols, or other fashion accessories.
Her original mohair wig and original cork pate is still attached, which we have chosen not to remove to preserve the integrity of her original condition.
Wearing her OUTSTANDING ALL ORIGINAL GAULTIER OUTFIT! Herluxurious 2 piece gown made of gorgeous French Silk Taffeta, the finely tailored shortwaisted basque bodice, trimmed with delicate lace at the collar and cuffs, with a crisp, pleated flare over the hips, trimmed with velvet, with the long bow tie in the back, that drapes over that magnificent bustle. The two layered bell-shaped skirt, reminiscent of Cinderella's ball gown, also trimmed with velvet, the front adorned with a velvet bow, and the back finished with wonderful coattails. Her dress is extraordinary, and accurately demonstrates the attire of wealthy Victorian women in the 1860's, with every single detail being true to that decade. Underneath, she has on all of her original undergarments - the fancy half slip, chemise, and bloomers, all adorned with lovely flounces of lace. She retains her original enchanting velvet hat, adorned with a marvelous large red plume and silk bow, and her wardrobe is complete with her original socks, and her original exquisite satin evening slippers with tiny beaded detail! Indeed, she is ready for the ball!
Her bisque head and shoulder plate are pristine, with no chips, cracks, or repairs, as inspected by a black light. Kid body is excellent, only showing minor wear due to age, the knees with the usual repairs to protect the joints. Bisque arms are excellent with no cracks, repairs, or repainting, and all her fingers in tact. Only a tiny chip on the back of her right arm and it can't even be seen when the doll is on display.
Her original clothing has been very well preserved - her shoes, and undergarments are pristine, the plume in her hat remains intact; there is some wear to the fragile silk dress, but that is expected considering it is 150 years old. Overall, her costume has held up well, and as seen in the photos, she displays so beautifully!
